One-to-one
A Curriculum Written for One Person, on One Question.
No template. We talk about your question, your deadline, and where you are starting, then write a plan for you. Classes start when you approve it. The sample classes on this site come from a one-to-one program.
Who it is for
Who Is One-to-One For?
Professionals and researchers whose needs do not fit a shared course: a project already under way, a deadline that will not wait, or a reviewer or supervisor comment they cannot yet answer. Students starting from scratch usually do better in the Research Cohort or a batch course.
Not a Video Course
A recording can show a method. It cannot answer your reviewer’s comment or go back over the step you missed last week.
The Order Follows You
We set the topics and their order after we know where you are starting, not before.
Before the first class
Nothing Starts Until You Have Seen the Plan.
We talk first. Classes come last.
Talk
Your goal, deadline, software, and where you are starting. A few lines is enough.
We Write the Plan
The topics, their order, and what each session should leave you able to do.
You Approve It
Read the plan and say yes, or ask for changes. Classes do not start until you agree.
Then We Teach
Slides made for each session, a written chapter you keep, and support between classes.

Sessions run 60–120 minutes, online, as often as your plan sets. Papers and data first, notation second, software once the idea is clear.
Slides Made for That Session
Each class gets its own slides, made for that student and that session.
A Chapter You Keep
Written class notes, typically thirty to forty pages, drawing on textbooks, papers, and the mentor’s own research. The PDFs on the sample session pages are these chapters.
Someone You Can Ask
Questions between classes are answered by a person. Some students work with more than one mentor, always one-to-one.
